Compilation of Web Based NLIIMS by GSI 

 

The work related to preparation of National Landslide Incidence Inventory Map (NLIIM) formulated on Geographic Information System (GIS) platform for providing online information related to incidences of landslides in different parts of the country was initiated by Geological Survey of India (GSI) in 2012-13. Landslide Hazard Information Management Division, GSI, New Delhi does this work.

The database is in the form of an attribute table based on the Landslide Inventory sheet prepared and recommended for use in the field. This contains the details of the landslides including location, length, width and height, type of material, type of movement, failure mechanism, geomorphology, triggering factor, geoscientific cause of slide etc. 

 

The database of landslide reporting is aimed to provide a template for reporting landslide incidences in a standard format for ensuring uniformity in reporting of essential parameters of landslides from the field by the investigators. This will result into a national landslide inventory integrated into state-of-the-art GIS platform compatible with other map datasets available on GSI’s Portal i.e. www.portal.gsi.gov.in. The map service will be in Web-GIS based interactive format available in GSI portal, with various inputs related to landslides. 

 

As per Geological Survey of India, the time of submission of final report of the programme is September, 2016.

SUB:- Inclusion/Deletion in the list of existing Hard / Very Hard stations notified vide this Office Memorandum of even number dated 10.10.2011

Based on the recommendation of the Committee, constituted for the purpose of consideration of the proposals for inclusion/deletion of Hard / Very Hard stations, the Hon’ble HRM-Cum-Chairman, KVS has accorded approval for inclusion of following three Kendriya Vidyalayas in the list of Hard Stations with immediate effect.

"The total sanctioned strength in Railway Protection Force as on 31.10.2013 is 74976 out of which 17471 posts are lying vacant.

As these vacancies occurred due to retirement, death and from creation of new posts, therefore the dates of vacancies are different. Detail of the vacancies (post wise) is as under"-

Arising and filling up of vacancies is continuous process, however, for filling up of existing vacancies as well as newly created posts in the Railway Protection Force, steps have already been initiated. In this process recruitment of 511 Sub-Inspectors has been completed and training for these Sub-Inspectors is going to be started from 15.12.2013. Written Examination for filling up of 17087 Constables has already been conducted and preparation of result is under process, followed by Physical Efficiency Test and Viva-Voce in due course of time.

NOTICE

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is receiving requests from the candidates regarding change of examination centres or change of date of examination for the teaching and misc. teaching posts. In this regard, KVS has clearly indicated in the DOWNLOAD OPTION UNDER EMPLOYMENT NOTICE/ADMIT CARD that REQUEST FOR CHANGE OF TEST CENTRE/VENUE WILL NOT BE ENTERTAINED.

Regarding change of date of examination it is informed that the written examination for recruitment is being conducted at All India level and all arrangements have been made. As such it is not possible to change the date of examination.

The candidates of Persons with Disability category are informed that the KVS will provide them the scribe if they require. Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination for persons who are making use of scribe will be given.
