2% hike in DA for Tamilnadu Government Employees from July 2018

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu today announced regarding Dearness Allowance for State Government Employees. The Govt decided to increase the Dearness Allowance from the existing rate of 7% to 9% with effect from 1st July 2018.

The arrears for the month of July and August will be paid with Septembers' salary. Formal orders will be published soon and the same will be uploaded here for your information.

4% Additional Dearness Allowance (DA) for Tamilnadu State Government Employees from Jan 2017

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Government today announced a four percent of Dearness Allowance to its employees and pensioners with effect from January 2017.

Today the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has declared an another installment of additional 4% Dearness allowance with effect from Jan 2017 to the employees working under Tamil Nadu Government. Following the announcement, the existing percentage 132% is increased to 136% from Jan 2017.

Following the Central Government, the state government has declared DA to its employees from the existing rate of 132% to 136% with effect from 1.7.2016 as per existing basic pay.

Tamil Nadu CM announces seven per cent DA hike for govt employees

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today announced a Dearness Allowance hike of seven percent for government employees and pensioners effective July one this year.

Increasing the DA to 132 per cent from the present 125 per cent would benefit 18 lakh government employees, pensioners and family pensioners and it would entail an approximate additional annual burden of Rs.1,833.33 crore to the state, he said in release here.

The increase in DA for the July 1 to November 30 period will be remitted in lumpsum in the bank accounts of employees, he said, adding the hike from the current month will be paid together with their salaries.

Following the hike in DA for Union government employees, Panneerselvam said government employees would get a hike ranging between Rs 427 and Rs 5,390, pensioners and family pensioners would get an increase from Rs 214 to Rs.2,695.

He said the hike would also be applicable to municipal bodies, those working in State-aided educational institutions, teachers, village assistants, Anganwadi and nutritional meal programme staffers.

On the hike, he said he was following the footsteps of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in ensuring the welfare of government employees as they delivered the State’s welfare schemes to the people

Maternity Leave increased to 270 Days for Women Employees - Tamilnadu Government issued orders

ORDER:
In the Government orders first and second read above, orders were issued enhancing the maternity leave from 90 days to 180 days to married women Government servants, with less than two surviving children, which may be spread over from the pre-confinement rest to post-confinement recuperation, with full pay, at the option of the women Government Servant. Accordingly, in the Government Order third read above, Rule 101(a) of the Fundamental Rules was also amended.


2. The Government, after careful consideration, based on the announcement made in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly by the Hon'ble Chief Minister on 01.09.2016, under rule 110 of the Legislative Assembly Rules order that the maternity leave admissible to married women Government Servants with less than two surviving children, which is 6 months (180 days) at present, be enhanced to 9 months (270 days), with full pay, which may be spread over from the pre-confinement rest to post-confinement recuperation, with full pay, at the option of the women Government Servant. The women Government Servants who proceeded on maternity leave, prior to the date of issue of this order and continue to be on that leave as of now, are also eligible for availing maternity leave upto 9 months (270 days), in total.

3. Necessary amendments to the Fundamental Rules will be issued separately.

Tamilnadu Government Employees get 6% DA Increase effective 1st July 2015

Tamilnadu Government DA Tamilnadu State Government  Employees get 6% DA Increase effective 1st July 2015 – The Government of India vide in its Office Memorandum, No. 1/3/2015-E-II (B), dated. 
23rd September 2015, has now enhanced the Dearness Allowance to its employees from 113% to 119% with effect from 1 July, 2015.

The Tamil Nadu Government, vide G.O.Ms.No.121, Finance (Allowances) Department, dated 22 April 2015, issued orders revising rate of Dearness Allowance, 113 per cent of Pay plus Grade Pay to State  Government employees from the 1st of January 2015.

The Government of India vide in its Office Memorandum, No. 1/3/2015-E-II (B), dated. 23rd September 2015, has now enhanced the Dearness Allowance to its employees from 113% to 119% with effect from 1 July, 2015.

Following the orders issued by the Government of India, the Tamil Nadu Government sanction the revised rate of Dearness Allowance to the State Government employees as indicated below :
  • 119 per cent of Pay plus  Grade Pay – From 1 July, 2015
Tamil Nadu – Enhanced Rate of DA from 1st July 2015 – The Treasury Officers / Pay and Accounts Officers shall make payment of the revised Dearness Allowance when bills are presented without waiting for the authorization from the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Tamil Nadu, Chennai-18.

The revised Dearness Allowance sanctioned in this order shall also apply to the teaching and non-teaching staff working in aided educational institutions, employees under local bodies, employees governed by the University Grants Commission/All India Council for Technical Education scales of pay, the Teachers/Physical Education Directors/Librarians in Government and Aided Polytechnics and Special Diploma Institutions, Village Assistants in Revenue Department, Noon Meal Organisers, Child Welfare Organisers, Anganwadi Workers, Cooks, Helpers, Panchayat Secretaries/Clerks in Village Panchayat under Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and Sanitary Workers drawing special time scale of pay.

The expenditure shall be debited to the detailed head of account `03. Dearness Allowance’ under the relevant minor, sub-major and major heads of account.

The Treasury Officers / Pay and Accounts Officers shall make payment of the revised Dearness Allowance when bills are presented without waiting for the authorization from the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Tamil Nadu, Chennai-18.
