SUBLETTING OF GOVERNMENT ACCOMMODATION
Will the Minister of URBAN DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:-
(a) whether instances of subletting of general pool residential accommodation of Government Employees have come to the notice of the Government;
(b) if so, the number of complaints received during the last three years from Delhi and other regional centres, year and place-wise;
(c) the action taken in each case including the details of penalties imposed; and
(d) the steps taken or being taken by the Government to restrict such subletting of Government accommodation?

(a): Yes, Madam.

(d): Penalties imposed on the allottee have been made more stringent. In addition to the penalties imposed under the Allotment Rules, the concerned Ministry/Department of the delinquent allottee also initiates disciplinary action against them. The complaint process has been made easy and accessible by opening an avenue for lodging the on-line complaints in Delhi, through the website of the Directorate of Estates.
