Subject: Guidelines for conduct of 44th KVS National Sports Meet-2013.

Madam/Sir,

Enclosed please find herewith Guidelines for conduct of 44th KVS National Sports Meet, 2013 alongwith Annexures, as approved by Competent Authority. It is pertinent to mention that prior to National Sports Meet 2013, Zonal Sports Meets at 05 different venues will be organized as per these guidelines.

There will essentially be no change in organization of Sports Meet at Regional Level and same is to be completed before August, 2013. However, the winner KV teams at Regional level in different games will also be sponsored by Regions for the Zonal sports meet as a part of Regional contingent.

For details please see the Guidelines carefully. The Guidelines for conduct of KVS Sports Meet, 2013 are also available on KVS website www.kvsangathan.nicin/Academic/Circulars. Please note that exact dates, venues and other finer details of Zonal/National Meet will be decided during the Annual meeting of NSCB.

This may be circulated amongst the Kendriya Vidyalayas of your Region for information and necessary action.

Yours Faithfully

(P.K. Koul)

It was nice to note that many a minds had been put together for conducting the zonal meet after the regionals to avoid crowding and reducing the number of days at the nationals. When everything seemed to be just right we were unhappy to hear the cancellation of the zonal meet and also the cancellation of the participants under 14 in all categories for the national meet . Is this justified , I personally ( many of them are sure to agree) feel that the young budding talents have to be identified and encouraged when they are young and less burden on their studies.. Does KV sports board have some other plans for these enthusiastic youngsters under 14. Can we still put our minds and get things right at least for the future.

As you know the parents were taking keen interest in developing their wards in sports. As a part of academic, sports plays major roll in the development of a child. Being golden jubilee year for the KVS I expected more from KVS conducting various events. The cancellation of Under-14 games is the gift given for their student as a golden jublee celibration.

SGFI declares KVS a independent State status. Accordingly KVS sent participants in U-14, U-17 and U-19 age group.
Reference is made to KVS HQ vide letter no. F. 110355/01/2013/KVS(HQ/SP/NSM-2013/1041-42 dated 09.04.2013.
With a good idea, the Zonal Level tournament was proposed. But due to probably shortage of time, Zonal tournament could not be held what we understood. Hence, to be stick to the decision, U-14 group was dropped. But we thought, this had happened for 2013 only. Infact it is continuing.
CONSEQUENCES: Player from KVS can not participate directly in SGFI from his State where he resides. Good U-14 players are to join in U-17 to get qualified for KVS National and thereby to SGFI. But due to his age limitation, he can not compete with those U-17 in SGFI.
OUR REQUEST: let the KVS national tournament be as it is and the standard of SGFI age group also be maintained.
HOW? :: If a U-14 player in his individual events while played in KVS National (U-17) qualified for SGFI, then send him to play in SGFI in U-14 age group. This is what we exactly want.
